Who we are
We have arranged our site so that you can review each speaker's background and class offerings separately, as well as review a composite list of everyone's classes. Following the link through a speaker's name below will take you to a page with a full biography and class listing for that particular speaker. For a composite alphabetical class listing including all speakers, as well as listings by general area of focus, please see “Classes We Present”. Wendy Lathrop, PLS,CFM first added her expertise in surveying, planning, and FEMA issues to the Cadastral Consulting course offerings in 2000. She purchased all rights to the Cadastral Consulting name and operation as of May 1, 2005 when Dennis Mouland returned to work with the Bureau of Land Management. She is now president and owner of the organization. Jerry Broadus, PS, Esq. joined the original Cadastral Consulting team in 1992, bringing his surveying and legal background into the organization. James R. Dorsey, PLS, WRS joined us in 2005 to add his extensive knowledge of boundary and title matters. Also in 2005, Joseph V.R. Paiva, Ph.D., PS, PE brought a new dimension to Cadastral Consulting, Inc. with his well-known expertise in the technical aspects of instrumentation, GPS, and error analysis. In 2006 Rebecca Somers, whose experiences span public and private sectors, added her extensive knowledge of Geographic Information Systems to our offerings. We are pleased to welcome Chuck Karayan, LS in 2007, recently retired from his position as Chief of Training in the Office of Land Surveys for CalTrans and currently consulting in title and boundary problems. We also welcome Jeff Lucas, JD, PLS, a surveyor and attorney from the southeast, joining us in 2008. Steve Parrish, PLS, WRS, CFedS has joined us in 2009 to share his many years of special expertise in the Public Land Survey System.
And most recently, in 2010, J. Anthony Cavell, PLS, CFedS (Tony) has added his surveying and teaching experience in business and GPS.
